Michigan football maintains No. 4 spot in coaches poll

The Michigan Wolverines, fresh off a 42-7 win over Rutgers on Saturday, maintained their No. 4 spot in the Amway coaches’ poll, released Sunday.

The rankings of the top six teams remained unchanged from last week: 1. Alabama, 2. Clemson, 3. Notre Dame, 4. Michigan, 5. Georgia, 6. Oklahoma.

The AP poll will be released later Sunday and the new College Football Playoff rankings will be revealed on Tuesday. Michigan was also No. 4 in the AP poll and the CFP rankings last week.

Michigan (9-1, 7-0 Big Ten) has two regular-season games remaining – home against Indiana on Saturday (4 p.m., FS1) and at Ohio State on Nov. 24 (noon, Fox). If the Wolverines win those games they will be Big Ten East Division champions and will play Northwestern in the conference championship game.
